About visiting

Please fill in the visitor’s form at the reception desk on the first floor, wear your visitor’s card around your neck, drop in at the staff station in the ward, and come to your room. When you finish, please return the visitor’s card to the reception.
Please prepare the room number or phone number of the hospitalized person for the visitor’s form in advance.

Attention

In accordance with the easing of visitation restrictions within the hospital, the visitation policy will be revised as follows starting Monday, July 22. Please note that, except for the maternity ward, all visitors must follow the hospital regulations or the specific rules of each ward.

 

1. Visitation Guidelines for the Labor and Delivery Ward and Procedures During Labor Progression


Visiting Hours 14:00 ~ 20:00
※Accompaniment During Labor and Delivery:
Available 24 hours—from the initiation of labor induction until two hours post-delivery.
Number of visitors Up to 2 visitors per day
※Presence During Labor and Delivery:
Up to two persons of the patient’s choice may be present (please inform us at the time of admission).
Precautions
  • Please complete the “Maternity Ward Visitor Health Check Sheet” before entering the labor and delivery ward.
    If any of the listed conditions apply to you, please refrain from visiting.
  • Please note that between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM, we may not be able to accommodate visitors due to medical procedures.
  • Depending on the situation, we may not be able to assist you immediately. Please take a seat and wait; we will attend to you in order.
  • During labor and delivery, we kindly ask that you follow the instructions of the doctors and midwives.
  • Please refrain from bringing children under the age of 12 for visits.

2. Pregnant and postpartum women admitted to the ward


Visiting Hours 14 : 00~20:00(including weekends and public holidays)
Visiting Area In the patient’s room or in the lounge (one group per table)
Precautions
  • Before your visit, please check the “Health Checklist” on the University of Tokyo Hospital website. If any of the items apply to you, we kindly ask that you refrain from visiting.
  • Regarding Visits to Postpartum Mothers and Newborns
    ・Visits with newborns are allowed only in the patient’s room (not in the lounge).
    ・Newborns may not be visited alone with visitors (a parent must be present).
    ・You may be asked to wait due to parenting guidance sessions or other care activities.
  • Details regarding the day of a cesarean section will be explained separately.
  • Please refrain from long visits or visiting in large groups.
  • Please refrain from bringing children under the age of 12 for visits.
